Sinbad is what happens when Pierre Negrin composes for Amouage's Essences line, a collaboration with the Royal Opera House Muscat first released only in Oman. The concentrate is aged six months and double-infused with sandalwood chips and oak barrel ethanol, giving it a depth that goes well past standard eau de parfum.
It opens rich and golden, honey wrapped in apricot, mango, and citrus, lifted by cardamom, ginger, and pink pepper. Then an unusual heart of cappuccino, black tea, and davana pulls it into something smoky and secretive, before tonka, vanilla, cedar, and labdanum anchor the base. Expect 8 to 12 hours with strong sillage, a true cool-weather statement.
Sinbad launched as an Oman exclusive, and the same composition carries a $475 retail on the 100ml Essences bottle. A rare one to sample before you chase it down.
