Dragon is what happens when Boadicea the Victorious builds a fragrance for the Year of the Wood Dragon and refuses to make it a novelty. Released in 2024 by the British house known for handcrafted bottles and gender-neutral compositions, it takes the fire and fluidity of the creature literally: bright spice up top for the height of it, a seductive floral heart for the beauty, and a musky vanilla base for the tail end that will not let go.
Cinnamon and saffron open it hot and slightly metallic, with a soft peach sweetness threading underneath that most people do not expect. Then incense arrives earlier than the pyramid suggests, resinous and dry, wrapping creamy magnolia and Turkish rose so the florals never turn powdery. Then amber, cashmere musk and vanilla settle in for the long haul, warm and gauzy and closer to the skin. Eight to ten hours, loud early and intimate late.
