Brompton Immortals Extrait is what happens when Jordi Fernandez takes Ex Nihilo's tribute to Harrods and rebuilds it at extrait strength. Named for the Knightsbridge address the store has occupied since the 1800s, it is sold exclusively at Harrods, which is why almost nobody in the States has smelled it. Where the original Eau de Parfum is polished and diplomatic, the Extrait is denser, spicier and considerably less interested in being ignored.
Saffron and pink pepper hit first and hit hard, metallic and cold in a way that reads almost like oud before it warms. Then Bulgarian rose, jasmine and lysylang open the middle into something lush and slightly jammy, the florals carrying more weight here than in the EDP. Then Madagascan vanilla, patchouli, olibanum and white musk close it out, creamy and resinous with a musk trail that outlasts the day. Ten to twelve hours on skin and noticeably longer on a scarf.
