Ex Nihilo Speed Legends is what happens when self-taught Spanish perfumer Jordi Fernández is told to bottle the feeling of pushing a sports car around a racetrack. He opens with a pulsating burst of bergamot, mandarin, and pink pepper that genuinely mimics the rush of wind against your face. Then blackcurrant and clary sage drive the heart forward with a juicy, slightly bitter edge that keeps it sharp instead of sweet.
Then the base takes over and the fragrance settles into its signature: vetiver, tonka bean, and ambery woods that hum close to the skin for 8 to 10 hours. Big sillage in the opening, refined and confident in the dry down. Clean, masculine, expensive smelling, the kind of fresh that does not smell like every other fresh.
