What happens when Guerlain builds a fragrance from an aviator's flight log? Neroli Plein Sud follows the southern routes Antoine de Saint Exupery flew over Morocco, picking up where Jacques Guerlain's 1933 Vol de Nuit left off. Delphine Jelk took neroli back to its North African origins and surrounded it with desert spice.
It opens on ginger, turmeric and cinnamon, dry and dusty and warmer than any neroli opening has a right to be. Then the neroli itself arrives with Tunisian orange blossom, clean and luminous and slightly soapy in the way the best ones are. Then vetiver and sandalwood ground it, and this is where it separates from every other neroli on the market, running ten to twelve hours with real projection.
