Moon Tale draws on the story of the Four Beauties, one of whom is said to have outshone the moon itself. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud translated that red into raspberry, then built China's most celebrated flowers around it.
It opens on raspberry, bright and juicy and unmistakably the star. Then peony brings softness while geranium cuts through with a green vibrancy that keeps the fruit from turning candied, and jasmine sambac and magnolia fill the middle with real floral weight. Then musks close it out as an ethereal powdery veil that holds seven to nine hours.
