What happens when Jacques Cavallier Belletrud builds a fragrance for one country and Louis Vuitton decides not to sell it anywhere else? Rain Tea launched in 2025 as part of the China-exclusive Journey to China trio, in a mint green lacquered flacon with a salmon pink cap. It has since been reintroduced worldwide under the name Tea Storm, same juice, new label.
It opens on lemongrass and bright citrus, sharp and green rather than sweet. Then the tea note arrives and it is the real thing, unprocessed leaf rather than bottled iced tea, with magnolia and Grasse rose softening the edges into something floral and calm. Then light woods and clean musk settle it against the skin for six to eight hours of quiet, expensive freshness.
The 100ml runs well past $300 and the original China-market bottles are getting harder to find. A 2ml decant answers the question before you commit to the flacon.
