Matiere Premiere Vanilla Powder Extrait is Aurelien Guichard's restraint exercise, an extrait concentration of bourbon and Madagascar vanilla absolutes lifted by iris and violet, with no caramel and no sugar in sight. It smells like cashmere knit pressed against warm skin.

The opening is a creamy vanilla brightened by a green violet leaf that keeps it from going gourmand. Iris and tonka give the heart its powdery, almost cosmetic refinement. The drydown is sandalwood, white musk, and benzoin smoothing the whole thing into a six to eight hour skin scent that people will quietly try to identify on you.
