What happens when a house takes its own bestseller and asks what it would smell like warmer? Valaya Exclusif arrived in 2025 as the intense reading of the 2023 original. Where Valaya is cottony, crisp and second-skin fresh, the Exclusif adds a velvety almond and a deeper woody base, and Parfums de Marly built the whole thing around that one change.
It opens on almond with bergamot and mandarin, soft and marzipan-adjacent rather than sharp. Then orange blossom and white flowers come through wrapped in a powdery haze, the part that makes people either love this or find it soapy. Then white musks, akigalawood, sandalwood and vanilla settle into a creamy drydown that hugs the skin for eight to ten hours.
The 75ml is $430 at the boutique. A 5ml decant tells you within a day whether the powdery almond works on your skin, which is the whole question with this one.
